Our Projects: not one-off acts of charity, but sustainable support
The goal of our projects is to create sustainable opportunities. Rather than offering one-off donations, we empower children and adults at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder to build a lasting future. That is why we support agricultural initiatives that generate structural jobs and food security, help entrepreneurs establish sustainable livelihoods, and fund libraries and educational projects.
Agriculture
Running
In both Nigeria and Sierra Leone, we have been running agricultural projects for several years. This is the driving force behind the work our foundation does. The idea behind these projects is that local communities become self-sufficient through them and can support and finance the other projects.
Education, Libraries & Music
Under development
In Sierra Leone and/or Nigeria, we will run an education project that we will name after Theo Willemze. Music and education will be given ample space here. Curious about the special story behind this initiative?
Kickstart for Entrepreneurs
Running
Many residents in the communities where we operate, live so far below the poverty line that they lack the funds to launch an income-generating activity. We want to break this cycle by offering them a starting point in the form of a microcredit in kind—an innovative concept launching in 2026 and 2027. We donate second-hand goods to help start-ups get off the ground. Entrepreneurs use their profits to sustain their businesses and support their families, creating a broader social impact. Depending on their financial capacity, they only need to repay a portion of their microcredit to GRO West Africa, which we then reinvest into our projects.
In addition, we ship goods to support our agricultural, library, and educational initiatives.
